Explore Red Rocks & Golden!

A private tour to Red Rocks and Golden can be from 4 hours – 10 hours, depending on the itinerary. Pick-up and Drop-off locations are the group’s choice. While many visitors to the Red Rocks area have specific sites they would like to see, many are happy to let our team create a custom itinerary that fits their interests, budget, mobility, and timeline.

No two groups are alike and we will plan a trip tailored to your group’s interests, budget, and needs. Below are some sample itineraries to use as inspiration for your perfect tour:

Every tour starts with a 30-minute drive out of Denver and towards the Rocky Mountains, after picking you up at your hotel or rental. Along the drive, you’ll get to know your guide and hear some history about Denver and the surrounding area. As you wind through the quintessential Colorado landscape, you’ll learn about the adventures had “out West” by some well-known historical characters as well as the modern-day attractions locals and visitors are drawn to. You can choose to start at either Red Rocks or in Golden – both are equidistant from Denver and a great way to start your tour.

Half-Day Tour:

This tour is designed to highlight the best of Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre (4-6 hours) and the nearby town of Golden. Get to know the humble history of this outdoor concert venue, which has hosted all the greats, the likes of The Beatles,The Grateful Dead, and John Denver! Delve deeper into its history as your guide leads you on a geological nature hike through the tilted titans studding this ancient landscape. In the nearby town of Golden, you’ll enjoy strolling around this small town that once rivaled Denver for the title of capital city of a riches-obsessed West. Depending on timing, you may have the opportunity to grab a cup of coffee or a snack at a local cafe.

Full-Day Tour:

A full-day tour (7-10 hours) offers the chance to enjoy plenty of time at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre and the town of Golden as well as a visit to the final resting place of the West’s most iconic and controversial characters (to this day!): Buffalo Bill Cody’s gravesite and museum. If you’re up for more adventure, let your guide show you the best nearby hiking trails for unforgettable views, fascinating ecology, and excellent wildlife spotting locations of the Rocky Mountain foothills. Dinosaur fans will love seeing the footprints and touchable evidence of prehistoric monsters, while railroad aficionados can enjoy some time at Colorado’s preeminent railroad museum. While exploring Golden, you’ll have a chance to have a meal at a local restaurant (probably lunch) – or maybe even have a taste of the Rockies at the Coors Brewery or another fantastic craft brewery.
